Job 9:9
He covers the Bear, Orion, The Pleiades,
And the constellations of the South.

This will be my first post in a while the same day it was written. Please forgive any errors. This is an outcome of my falling way behind on my goal of writing two every day. Fortunately, I have overcome my emotional problems related to not meeting goals I set for myself.
I mentioned the references to pagan gods the other day and here we have references to the constellations which are of course more references to pagan gods. I used the frequent name of the bear rather than Ursa only because of my personal background with the bear as its name and not Ursa as did all my sources except one who used “Arcturus”. Orion is the hunter, and The Pleiades are the sisters. We come back to these in 38:31-32, so I will not focus on the back stories here.
I broke my string of replacing pronouns and went with He over who and which. The flow of poetry is butchered with the Hebrew into the English here more than other places and the Pleiades bounce between stitches.
Many versions had the chambers rather than the constellations, but I could not make the leap to the less frequent word. Several versions had the south winds rather than just the direction, but this added nothing in my mind.
I live in one of the worst places to see the sky with all our urban light pollution. Where I grew up, we could see the much of the sky at night. When we went camping, we could see it all. The difference between the sky of camping and what my girls grew up with is astounding. We have tried to give them the best upbringing we could, but in some areas we failed miserably. With Father’s Day just yesterday, we took a little time on the drive to and from dinner to talk about fathers, mostly in how mine did not give me a good role model, especially for girls. I have a bookcase that holds the books I read when the first one was little about how to be a good parent. Looking back the focus was on the latest and greatest trends and nothing about how it really should look. The bible is full of help, but most of the best parts are for use with everyone and not just for fathers and daughters. Hopefully I have learned enough about dealing with people to help my kids a little.
