Birds and Beasts – Study of Job 12:7

Job 12:7

Yet, “Ask the animals, to instruct you,

The birds of the air, to tell you.

I have seen more news today than in the last few years combined most likely. I hope that if I am in the hospital when I am 90 that I have a little more variety in what I do. It is pretty hard to work here without a pressing deadline. Without a desk, it seems hard to do anything productive.

‘Animals’ was also ‘beast’ and ‘cattle’, but neither seemed to hold more meaning. ‘Instruct’ was also ‘teach’, but ‘teaching’ is generally a two-way street.

‘Birds’ was also ‘fowl’, but ‘fowl’ always sounds negative to me. ‘Tell’ was unanimous.

Overall, this seemed pretty straight forward. Of course, it is Job telling his friends that even the stupid animals know more than them.

As I have sought to make headway in the opportunities facing our family, I have continued to find that most of what we do is waste time on things we cannot control or trying to calm down from doing trying to do so. I really see that I want to do more with people than to actually do more in general. Trying to learn how and lead my family that way will be the best path, I think.

Not sure I can learn that from the birds and the beasts, but at least they won’t complain that I use pretty and actually when I speak.
