Job 13:21
Withdraw Your hand away from me,
Let not my dread of You terrify me.
I forgot to write done on the page, so I did this one again. Same prompt, difference response.
Last week was vacation. I did almost nothing. It was the best vacation I won’t remember. The amount of nothing that I got to do was incredible, and well needed. It actually took me an extra day to get back into work mode.
‘Withdraw’ was also ‘remove’ and ‘take’. ‘Hand’ was also ‘palm’ and there was some use of the adjective far to describe the situation.
There was some sense of Gad actively terrifying Job as opposed to Job’s fear doing the trick.
I found a new author to read. His books have the stereo typical ‘better than me’ characters. I carry a paradigm that books with good looking characters are more likely to get made into movies. But of course every books characters are made up in your own mind with whatever level of descriptors the author includes.
The same is true of the Bible in that many people picture Jesus to look like they do regardless of the fact that He was 100% stereotypical Jew. My original paradigm for what a Jew looked like was from the many ancient Christian paintings of Jesus who looked like the middle age Europeans who were making the paintings. My second paradigm of what a Jew looked like was from my childhood friend who was a blonde haired blue eyed Jew as near as I could remember. Gave me a odd outlook on the whole blonde haired blue eyed Aryan race issues that I later heard something about.
Today, I carry a paradigm that the stereotypical Jew looks like my college roommate. But through my time with him, I learned that while who your parents were might impact what you look like, who you are is determined by what you believe and how you exemplify that in your actions. One of my vacation thoughts was to review again what the Apostle’s Creed says and what it means and what place does it have in my life and how I encourage others to believe in Christ and follow His direction. (run-on sentence?) I want to learn all I can about God, but I know the best use of it is to love others so that they might learn about and love Him as well.
