Curdle Cheese – Study of Job 10:10

John 10:10

You poured me out like milk,

   Curdled me like cheese,

I like cheese. When I was a growing boy, I drank lots of milk. I can identify with the visuals in this verse. But my understanding of them is well beyond a glass to drink from and a lump to eat.

Most of the sources had “you poured me out like milk.” Some had it in question form, some had it as a statement of fact, and many had some leading phrase attached. I could not find comfort in the question and no pattern in the leading phrases.

Curdled was also congealed, but I went with the active over the passive. There were some sources who put the cheese ahead of everything else, but I kept the order consistent.

My actual visual for this verse is God pouring a liquid out of a vessel and the form of a person materializing out of the liquid with no thing to cause the liquid to take a particular shape. In some ways, it represents my faith that God can act beyond the natural and do things we cannot fathom. I do have a visual of a hand moving a handle up and down in a churn for the cheese, but my mind keeps telling me that is for butter and therefore  not applicable. I am not a butter/cheese expert, but either way, the concept is that God was responsible for making us what we are in some supernatural process we cannot understand.

I had a dream I was retired and off to graduate school to get a PhD, but I was late to class for no good reason, and I ended up trying to use some new-fangled contraption dependent upon technology to get me where I needed to be. Turns out I just needed an old fashion map. This morning I understand that the old fashion map was the Bible, and we need to rely on reading it to show us the way to follow God.  By faith, we know that God will continue to act supernaturally to use our willingness to bring Him untold glory. Lets get out there and curdle some cheese.
