Opportunity Costs – Job 152 Study 138 – Job 8:3

Job 8:3

Would God pervert justice?

Would the Almighty pervert what is right?

I have an event to go to and in theory it would be an hour in the car each way alone. I spend a lot of time alone, but I had an itch to find a way to not have to do so tonight. So, I may end up starting my travels two hours early to have company along the way. It’s all business, so there may be huge benefits, but two hours seems like a lot.

“Pervert” had only one option among the sixteen opportunities, and it was a single use of “subvert”. The only option for “God” was “El”.  “Justice” was used seven times (four times in the first stitch and three in the second), “Judgement” was used three times (all in the first), and “The right” was used six times (once in the first).  Twice “Shaddi” was used for the “Almighty”. I duplicated “pervert”, used the generic terms over names, and split the two most popular terms between the two verses. Either way, the verse repeats the same idea twice.

The last few months I have spent a lot of effort trying to get me turned into a better version of me. Not that I have really changed, just that I have become more aware of who I am and who I want to be. I still want to have hobbies and friends and all that, but I need to be a better family member and use my worldly talents and godly gifts to serve God and others. But I think these are the struggles we all have every day and there is no life worth having without them. I will try to use the extra two hours wisely, but now I see it as an opportunity more than a cost.
