Job 20:4
This you know, that from our start,
Ever since we were set upon the earth,
One of the topics in the title for my blog is fast cars. I have two pretty fast cars, but it has never been about how fast they were or comparing them to other cars or any competitive streak. I just always wanted a 911, I got the prettiest one I could afford, and it happened to be pretty fast. Afterwards, I wanted a four-door car that was pretty fast and had an automatic transmission. The Infiniti was the one I could afford (that I just happen to like the way it looks) and it had a big V8. Yesterday was an interesting day in my world of cars.
The first stitch was mainly worded as a questions with ‘do you not know’, ‘surely you know’, and ‘are you aware’. I felt the alternative was better. ‘From our start’ was also ‘from of old’, ‘from time immemorial’, ‘the first’, and ‘from eternity’.
‘We’ was ‘mortals’ or ‘man’. But again I went another way. ‘Set’ was also ‘placed’.
As of today, we have six vehicles; my two cars and four SUVs. Yesterday, I took in four to get an oil change. The new one did not yet need one and the 911 needs more work, but each of the others had the ‘change oil’ light come on, and I decided to get them all done at once. I did not get too much work done, but I got a lot of stuff that needed doing done.
One of my newest goals is to get a lot of work to do and not get too stressed out about it. The expectation is that there is at least three years of this, so I know I cannot be frantic for three years running. I have started to make some health changes that I should have made long ago, but they feel more urgent than before. My weight is down, and my blood pressure is down, so now I need to get all the eating and exercising into a routine and the rest should get better accordingly.
But I have known I needed to do this from the start. Even in college when every meal was all you can eat and I exercised or performed physical activity all the time, I didn’t skip days or eat too much. These were bad habits I developed once I had to plan exercise and make or procure the food individually. School wasn’t so much easy as it had flexibility, and provided easy access and was already paid for. God has provided me the same now, I just haven’t been diligent enough to take advantage. But I need to learn again to rely on Him for everything.
