Job 8:22
Your enemies will be clothed in disgrace,
The dwelling of the wicked will be no more.

Today is the first real day of summer around here. Friday seemed more like the start of a four-day weekend and that feeling carried through all four days. Tomorrow begins the real preparation for college and summer will never be the same for us.
“Your enemies”(3) was also “foes”(2) or “those who hate you”(3). I picked enemy as it was reinforced with foe and the hate just did not seem correct. “Disgrace”(2) was also “shame”(6), but disgrace just seemed bigger.
Originally, I had “will vanish”, but as I looked at the options, I wavered on what to use. Options were “will be no more”(3), “will come to nothing”, “shall come to naught”, “gone”, “vanish”, and for the whole stitch the simple “The wicked untented.” “The dwelling”(2) was chosen over “tent”(6). I preferred vanish when I was thinking tent, but a dwelling is less physical and I think “will be no more” works better with it. I still like dwelling over tent, so I have chosen “will be no more”.
My dwelling is with God, my home is my family, and every physical thing will come to nothing. We had friends over yesterday and it was nice. I find it odd that all winter we were so busy with a thousand things and now we have time to relax. I know it is the product of the kids’ school and all their events, but it sure would be nice to have more days like yesterday in the middle of all that. Not sure what it has to do with enemies and wicked, but I feel the drive to spend more time with my friends who do not hate me.
