The Sovereign God – Study of Job 9:12

Job 9:12

Behold, When He takes, who can hinder Him?

Who can say to Him, ‘What are you doing?’

(Written 7/3, Posted ? Job 183)

Today I read Job 9 in my chapter of the Bible a day plan and it felt funny having gotten about halfway through the writing on each verse. I am reading my amalgamation for those chapters that I have completed and beyond all the silly typing errors, I do indeed find the message much clearer. I know my study of the book is a long way off after the decision to complete the amalgamation first, but I yearn to get there.

Takes was also snatches, seizes, and robs. Robs was way out of bounds as its all His, snatches was similarly weak, and while seizes was correct, the simple takes won out. Hinder was also stop and resist, but two sources including my favorite had something more like who can restore it. I found the difference interesting but preferred the idea of someone trying to stop Him as opposed to try to take something back from Him.

A couple sources has who will say to Him as opposed to who can say to Him. I know there are people all over the earth now and from the Adam until His Kingdom come that will say something to Him, but the use of can includes the proper implication that it would make a difference to speak.

The place we are staying is so much like the condos that we stay in in Grand Cayman that I am almost as comforted as when I am there. I look forward to enjoying these couple days away and know that while this is much more intense than my pining to finish work was last week, it pales in comparison to how much I should look forward to being in heaven. God has set the experience of mankind in motion and while the realities of life are so much better than tv and reality tv, I know that life is living just because He lives.
