Job 22:12 You think: ‘God is in the lofty heavens,    Behold, the highest stars, how lofty they are!’   I wonder if Hebrew has heaven as the same word here like we do in English. I always understood the English word to have two meanings of space above the earth and a non-physical realm… Continue reading Study of Job 22:12 – #531 Making Friends

Job 22:11 Through darkness, you cannot see,    Nor the flood of waters covering you.   My back started acting up yesterday when I leaned over to pick something up. My father-in-law used to be ‘down in his back’ quite often. I only screamed like a baby once so far. My knee was feeling better… Continue reading Study of Job 22:11 – #530 Routine

Job 22:10 Therefore, snares are all around you,    Why sudden peril terrifies you.   The concept is that you know you have done wrong and expect to be punished. This is so far from where Job is. They think he is wrong. We find out they are. Not sure how deep to dig here.… Continue reading Study of Job 22:10 – #529 Perspective of Judgement

Job 22:9 You have sent widows off empty-handed,    Crushed the arms of the fatherless.   Widows and Orphans. There is potential that taking care of them is the most important thing Christians are supposed to do. Our church has a widows ministry and an adoption ministry. Job 22:8 For you:    “The strong-armed control the land,       Those so privileged dwell upon it.”   I am developing a new desire: I want my home to be organized and look that way. Job 22:6 For you have extracted pledges from your kinsmen without reason,    Stripped the naked of their clothing.   This verse starts a string of things the Eliphaz is accusing Job of doing. My guess is he is just guessing because this is what he has done. We know Job did not do these… Continue reading Study of Job 22:6 – #525 Stripped the Naked

Job 22:5 In fact, your wickedness is great,    There is no end to your iniquities.   Wow. Talk about a slap in the face. Your companion says this to you in front of everyone while you are suffering unimaginably. One of the many reasons I did not want to call these three friends. It… Continue reading Study of Job 22:5 – #524 Endless

Job 22:4 Is it because of your piety that He reproves you?    Comes to judgement against you?   I find this verse funny. The answer is yes, but Job along with everyone else does not know that God is allowing this to happen because Job loves God so much. I can picture the actor… Continue reading Study Of Job 22:4 – #523 Desks

Job 22:3 Is it gain for the Almighty if you are righteous?    Does He profit if you make your ways blameless?   My routine has not been in place. I spent a week on vacation, a week by myself, and most of a week dealing with the rest of the household back from vacation.… Continue reading Study of Job 22:3 – #522 Aiming
