Job 21:18
That they become like stubble before the wind,
Like chaff that the storm sweeps away?
Artificial Intelligence is supposedly upon us. The problem is that is was made by man for man’s purposes. Man’s purpose appears to be to sell things to other people. The latest I read is that the AIs are acting like personalized ads depending on who paid the most to have their answer given. They are just programs limited to what people tell them.
Only three sources led with a typical questions format with ‘how often’ or ‘do such’. ‘Stubble’ was also ‘straw’ the other six times.
‘Swept away’ was also ‘snatched’ or ‘carried away’. ‘Storm’ was once ‘gaze’.
The sellers of stuff that feed off this AI storm are of course selling stuff themselves. They want people to buy their formula to get to the rich side before it is too late. Most rich men I have heard of hide the secret and try to get richer. Therefore, I believe these people are not selling anything worth having.
My goals have always been to have enough money to provide for my care and the care of my family, return to God the tithe and whatever else he wants, and be content. My sin nature wants more money, more stuff, to impress people, and all the filth of the world just like other people’s sin nature. My action is to follow the Holy Spirit to avoid the ways of the world and to produce the fruit of the Spirit. As discussed in the last book I read, I am fine having a larger tithe and the opportunity to share more with others, but those are not the goals I have selected for myself.
I have been struggling to lower my stress levels and my blood pressure. I have had some success the last little bit, and I am hoping it is progress I can build on. I know that work will be work for as long as I am fit to do it, so I cannot keep charging after it as if it is something to be conquered. The last thought I have is that this verse aligns with the goal to have treasures in heaven and not treasures on earth that will be lost to eternity.
