Job 22:18
Yet, it was He who filled their houses with plenty –
(The thoughts of the wicked are beyond me!)
Punctuation is something I was taught when I was young, but I rarely get very sophisticated with it. I probably cannot remember any of the terms and their meanings about word usage except maybe pun. Well, I know about sarcasm, but only because I read it was a sin. I once read a complex rule set about adjective order that I ‘knew’ how to use, but was obviously never directly taught and couldn’t have told you about it anyway.
‘Yet’ was once ‘but’ and once ‘when’. ‘Plenty’ was also ‘good things’ six times, and ‘bounty’ once. The punctuation was mainly from the Jewish sources for the verse as a whole.
‘Beyond me’ was also ‘are repugnant to’, ‘stand apart from’, ‘is far from’, and ‘incomprehensible’. ‘Thoughts’ were also ‘plans’ and ‘counsel’.
Yesterday, I tried to do too much, and it was miserable. I felt pressure to get things done so we could enjoy this evening and be prepared for the rest of the week out of town. Nothing went right, I was enraged many times, and I just wanted to go to bed. The only thing I did not get done was exercise, so other than being a total failure, I at least got a lot done.
Since I am a borderline hoarder, my house is overflowing with plenty. Most of it I need to throw away, but I struggle to do that with stuff I might need some day. I want to give it away, but I want to do so to people who will use it, but a lot of it is simply not worth anything to anyone. I can see electric cables galore, a tent, air mattresses, books, envelopes, pens, and oh so much more without moving. And car toys. But I want to keep those since I am a twelve-year-old boy at heart.
We have seen some weird behavior in some of the real and fake cop shows we watch. I do not understand how people can be so disrespectful of the lives and well being of others around them. But I do sometimes see how I am not exactly the most loving person someone else might want in their life. My daily devotional was about the poor in spirit inheriting the Kingdom of God and how this was made evident in how we should cast off our wants and only follow God. What I think I need most right now is the discipline to get my body working the way it should. Asking for a miracle I know.
