Job 22:19

The righteous seeing it rejoice,

   The guiltless laugh and mock them.

It’s been a wild few days. Some high highs and some low lows. Hopefully it will be a turning point in how I manage my health. Trying to align who I am with who I want to be.

‘It’ is the ruin of the wicked. ‘Rejoice’ was also ‘are glad’ and ‘delighted’.

‘Guiltless’ was ‘innocent’ the other seven times. ‘Mock’ was also ‘scorn’.

Again, this is not from Job himself, and it is not correct. It is not the righteous and guiltless that rejoice, and laugh, and mock. It is the ones who simply did not have enough wickedness to overcome. The truly righteous do not rejoice in the pain of others. We are to love our enemy and want good and salvation for them.

I wanted to buy a Civic to teach the girls to drive a stick in. I had two Civics in my younger years and they were great cars, just too small for our needs as our family grew. A few years back they came out with the Civic that had all the power mine did not, and I wanted one. My wife is not thrilled with how loud it is or how ‘look at me it is’. But it is the Civic I always wanted. We will at least have some fun as I teach them, and everyone else who wants to learn in the car apparently.

Alas, it is not anywhere near the 911, so when the 911 returns from the shop, and the girls are all trained up, the Civic will have to be passed on to someone else. I have always preferred my 911 without the big tail on the back that says ‘Look at me’, and I know the tail on this Civic will wear out its welcome with me all too soon. But hey, let them look, and I will shoot for being guiltless and laugh too.
